Eyes See You
SpectaculArts is a local organisation of Bedford residents and volunteers from various backgrounds. Creating space for all to celebrate and share what is joyous and unique about their individual cultures.
Having, successfully delivered Bedford Carnival, Italian Festival, Jamaican Independence Day Celebrations, Asian Festival, African Festival...
SpectaculArts is now focused on highlighting and bringing greater recognition to the little known, International Day of Remembrance. March 25th. To honour the victims of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade.
Paying tribute to those who suffered and died as a consequence of what has been called "the worst violation of human rights in history”. In which over 400 years (1441-1888) more than 18 million men, women and children were victims.
Spectacularts is planning an ambitious, impacting and uplifting dance concert, tour! Featuring, groundbreaking choreography from Jaron Johnson, Michael Naylor and Kane Horn, amongst others.
We promise an amazing show, of live dance and an array of live music performance. Integrating and utilising, digital images to explore and express the journeys of slavery.
Audience and viewer being transported, on this harrowing journey. Gaining, insight to the depths of our tragic history. Eventually, enlightened and uplifted to greater understanding.
We want people to come away from the show asking questions!
Essentially, maybe this show will help people to understand the continuous struggle for rights and equality better.
Now is the time to start the conversation! To change the narrative!
We need to start somewhere and this ambitious show, might very well be the catalyst.
